Mary Catherine Ross of Hermiston, Oregon, was born on March 24, 1949 in Salem, Oregon to parents, Roy and Elsie Brown Ross. She died on October 27, 2011 at Kadlec Regional Medical Center in richland, Washington at the age of 62 years. Mary attended Sunnyside, Washington High School before moving to Sunnyvale, California where she graduated high school in the class of 1967. She moved to Hermiston, Oregon in 1978 where she worked at the Hermiston Christian School as a reading teacher before joining the Hermiston Police Department where she worked until 1997 when her health forced her to retire. Mary then spent countless hours writing words of encouragement to others. She became an OSU Master Gardener in 2009, and became passionate about growing dahlias and vegetables. Mary was a member of New Hope Community Church, Hermiston, Oregon. She loved her dogs, building miniature doll houses, and making stained glass artwork.
