Larry White

Harry and Darui White died in a house fire in their trailer home caused by a space heater faulty wiring. Harry called 911 and then tried to put the fire out with a fire extinguisher but was overcome by the smoke and fumes. He died in the trailer on January 20, 2020. The rescuers found Darui still alive and took her to the hospital, but she died from compications from smoke inhalation two days later, January 22, 2020

Harry was a very good rudimental drummer and was excellent on the trapset. He spent time on the drumline of the Santa Clara Vanguard, a founding member from the Sparks Drum Corps. 1962 to 1970. His brother Larry played rudimental bass drum, bass bugle and was the first Vanguard Drum Major. Harry was an avid fan of Bugle Corps Championship shows through DCI, Drum Corps International. Harry also was in a couple of Rock bands during the 1960's along with his brother.

Through LSD Harry had a profound experience of oneness with the universe and all life. He was dealing with that issue the rest of his life. Harry would spend time walking along the beach in Santa Cruz with Larry and talk about the existence of God and other philosophic subjects. Harry was a very deep thinker and was mostly interested in figuring out the spiritual universe and how to find the truth about God.

Harry was very religious as a Buddhist and studied the writings of Krisha Murti, Mayher Baba and other authors.

Harry also spent time as a young man at the Scientology headquarters in Hollywood until he found their corruption and was told to leave. During this time he was a very angry and violent person and could not keep a job. Later, in the last 20 years, I witnessed, through our e-mail correspondence, his growth into a patient and level headed man. He became a classic Liberal as he liked to call it with right wing conservative views. Harry loved life and had a good, if not whacky, sense of humor.

He is sorely missed.
His ashes will be kept by his sister, Pam, until internment is decided. No services are planned.
