Mike took me to the one and only dance I ever got invited to (or attended.) I think he felt sorry for me. He was such a sweet guy with a good heart. I am saddened to know he is no longer with us.
Mike and I hung out a lot junior and senior year. I kept in touch when he went to UC Davis and we travelled to Europe together in 1970. He was a super smart guy and had great energy. Lost touch with him sometime after he got married in early 70's and always wondered where he ended up, as no one could ever locate him. I posted a picture on the SHS Website of a prom dance with Mike in the pic and asked "where is he now?"...I just received an email from Dave Bonte (class of 66) who saw the picture. Dave is indirectly related to Mike and he broke the sad news that Mike had passed away 5 or 6 years ago in Florida. I always wanted to sit down over a beer and talk about life with Mike. I miss him.

Mike Kolar passed away in 2000 and is buried in the Alta Vista Memorial Park in Palo Alto.
