John Gomez (see John's profile page) has graciously allowed us to post this great story about Jack.

"...Later that morning a bunch of us were hanging out on the Senior lawn. A group of the class of '68 guys came up saying the lawn was theirs now. 'Tradition' supposedly said that the Senior lawn passed onto the next graduating class, at midnight.

I remember Jack Warren and a few of the '68 guys going back and forth and kidding around about the 'time'. .. It wasn't long before the kidding around stopped and things got tense. Jack saw this as a black and white issue - no middle ground. . . Jack Warren was one of the nicest guys in the world but if his buttons got pushed, enough, all bets were off. . . Jack stood up to those guys. NO lawn .. Not a single one of the 15 or so '68 guys were willing to step on the lawn..........or mess with Jack! .. The janitors ended up diffusing the situation when they turned the sprinklers on.

I remember the last time I saw Jack - at a surprise Birthday party, in 1974. The following year we were shocked to learn that Jack had passed away due to a heart ailment. I remember Jack from our elementary school days, at Bishop school.

Jack was athletic, strong, just an all around great guy. I'm sure others remember Jack in this way.

Jack, you're not forgotten."

Thanks John for sharing a great memory.
